BSN True Mass review

I did a review on BSN True Mass roughly 2 years ago, but remembering the experience I had with Syntha-6 and most recently with the NO XPLODE, I decided to give it a try again. Below is my BSN True Mass review.

BSN True-Mass is a high-calorie, protein-packed supplement designed to assist athletes and bodybuilders in gaining weight.

BSN True-Mass is a lean mass gainer with the right C2P ratio.

Ingredient Profile – 9 / 10

BSN states that 630 calories are in each serving of True-Mass. And as you exercise and your energy level diminishes, you need to fuel your body with calories, and carbohydrates are your body’s primary source of energy. One serving of True-Mass contains 76 grams of carb, which is about 25% of the daily recommended intake. Good balance there. It also contains 100% of the daily recommended intake of vitamins B6 and B12, all of which help to convert food into energy. Finally, True-Mass is packed with 46 grams of protein per serving, more than enough for necessary daily intake.

Now, when speaking with friends and customers, one big common misconception many people have is that the bigger the calorie, the better. Wrong. It helps, to say the least, but it’s not merely about packing in a lot of calories per serving. When choosing a weight gainer, you want to pay attention to the carbohydrate to protein ratio – I call it the “C2P ratio” – and ideally it should be in the neighborhood of 1.5 to 2. It means that for every gram of protein in a serving, there should be about 1.5 to 2 grams of carb. Makes sense? Now, let’s analyze the True-Mass. Each serving of True-Mass is 145 grams, with 75g of carbs and 46g of protein, which yields a C2P ratio of 1.63. While it is not meant to serve as a definitive guideline, I hope this helps you to examine this facet of weight gainer profile more deeply.

Mixability – 9.5 / 10

No problems here. You hardly ever get clumps. Make sure you shake well and you’re good to go.

Taste – 10 / 10

The collective feedback from my buddies is that this weight gainer tastes really really good. Whoever came up with the taste on this must have worked at a milkshake bar or something – it’s that good. In my personal opinion, Strawberry and Vanilla are the 2 best flavours for this product.

Effectiveness – 9 / 10

I gained about 12 lbs in 2 months, it’s not completely lean mass weight I gained but it’s quite impressive given I’m a hard gainer. I’m happy with the overall result. I didn’t lose any noticable definition or anything. If you cut down on serving size, then it will serve as a meal replacement.

Overall – 9.2 / 10

This is a great weight gainer overall – tastes great and mixes easily and it’s as effective as other weight gainer proteins. Don’t be fooled by other weight gainers that proclaim they have obscene amounts of calories. Pay attention to their C2P ratio, and you know that BSN True-Mass delivers. It is an optimally designed weight gainer that helps you gain weight quickly while replenishing your daily nutrition. The only problem is that for a tub you would only get 18 servings.
