Betaine supplementation (2.5 grams per day) for 7 days increased peak cycling power during repeated high-intensity intervals compared to a placebo (fake betaine) – according to a University of Connecticut, Storrs study.
Betaine, also called trimethylglycine or TMG, is an amino acid compound found in wheat, spinach, shellfish and sugar beets. It is an important regulator of body water and is useful in reducing levels of an inflammatory chemical called homocysteine, which is an important risk factor for coronary artery disease. Betaine reduces blood levels of homocysteine and might improve athletic performance. (Journal International Society Sports Nutrition, 9:12, 2012)
Trimethylglycine (TMG) is a key ingredient in Driven Sports Craze, a very popular preworkout formula. If you’re looking for the perfect supplement to improve your preworkout muscle strength and power, Driven Sports Craze is the perfect choice and comes highly recommended.
